ABOUT US
Mokita Medical was founded in 2017 to fill a gap that Prof. Tilo Kölbel faced in his daily practice at University Heart Center in Hamburg.
Silent Brain Infarction (SBI) in cardiovascular interventions area is a frequent problem leading to cognitive decline.
Although it is believed that the source of stroke and SBI is solid embolism, Tilo gathered compelling clinical evidence that air-embolism released from large-bore devices is a risk for patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures. Mokita Medical focuses on the development of a medical technology innovation that strives to eliminate all air bubbles from large bore devices at deployment.
Mokita Medical focuses on large-bore devices as they are prone to generate larger quantities and sizes of air bubbles. Cardiovascular procedures using large-bore medical devices is a fast-growing cardiovascular intervention market segment. It encompasses procedures such as, Endovascular Aneurysm Repair, Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair, Transcatheter-Edge to Edge Mitral Repair, Mitral or Tricuspid Valve repair and replacement.
